Busy Mumbai Days

I have not been getting much time publish blogs from Mumbai – In fact I am not getting much time to log-on to the net itself. I have keyed in a few blogs on to my Laptop – hope I can publish them soon. I also have a lot of pics I took here in Mumbai.

I sometimes really miss my cam – I don’t really carry it around during work. There are so many things I see here in Mumbai I want to capture as a photograph – but am unable to. Anyways today for the first time I have the cam in my bag.

Things keep moving in Mumbai and they move fast... Posted by Hello

Lajavthiye in Mumbai

I share my room with Satish who is from Chennai and is also here in Mumbai on deputation. As we were watching Sun TV – and the old " Pepsi Ungal Choice " Uma in a new bottle ( new sponsor ) – he said he likes the song the is coming up from “4 Students” – guess which song comes up? Lajavathiye ….. in tamil of course.

My friend Tony was speaking to me from Chennai one day and he said he felt home-sick whenever he heard that song – lucky bloke – got a good break and is back home and would have reported to his new company today.

The Journey

Slept through most of the trip - not surprising - I only slept for an hour and a half the night before. But before I hit the sack – I went through the 7 Steps of Finding Freedom in Christ by Neil Anderson. I’ve wanted to do that since Sept 6th – the date of my other birthday.

The trip was fairly uneventful – I also discovered that in addition to the ability to survive without eating rice – I also have the ability to survive only on snacks – ya my wife always knew it I guess.

The taxi-driver took me straight to the landmark I told him about – but finding the guest house was a different story – there was a Murphy ’s Law at work – just can remember
the whole law exactly – something like ‘all the people who you meet in a new place are also new to the place etc.’.

I was always worried of being robbed during my journey – thanks to God nothing happened to me – but the A/C Coach attendant, who is from Maharastra – was complaining that someone wacked his footwear during the night !

From Bangalore to Mumbai ( and hopefully back to Bangalore soon )

This blog is about my experiences in Mumbai. So, why am I in Mumbai ? Well my work brings me here. I have been to Mumbai some 6 or 7 times. The last time I was here was in Jan 2003 for the G12 training.

Of course I miss Ray and my wife – but my wife was very supportive and encouraged me to go – my boss had given me 10 minutes to make-up my mind and if I choose the assignment I was to leave immediately.

I was looking forward to playing the drum s for the first time with the worship team of APC – new drum kit in the new central venue. Unfortunately didn’t happen - but I am sure I’ll get more opportunities. One of my concerns here in Mumbai was about the church I will attend. I think this Sunday I will go to the New Life Church in Bandra. Or I may try to got to the church of Bro. Manuel - saw his programme in God TV recently.

I wanted to call the blog “Vadapav” – unfortunately that name is already taken – so I am naming the blog after the next best thing that is top-of-mind to me Mumbai “ Vile Parle “, where my office is located.
